Describes experiments using different types of diffusers for the determination of throw in various room sizes and to compare experimental results with existing correlations. Throw testing was performed for two types of ceiling diffusers using three different room sizes. For each room size and diffuser type, at least three flow rates were used, and the velocity measurements were taken at a minimum of eight locations away from the diffuser. Presents the results in diagrams and tables. Concludes that for accurate characterisation of the expansion zones of an isothermal jet, throw pattern and room size must be considered. Finds in addition that the K factors were slightly affected by the room size if the jet intercepted the wall.
