Along the commercial and industrial corridors of routes 76 and 202 in Montgomery and Chester counties in southeastern Pennsylvania, the high density residential housing and office buildings appear ideally suited for district heating and cooling (DH/C). The Pennsylvania Governor’s Energy Council awarded grants to the Montgomery County Department of Commerce and Economic Development and the Chester County Development Council to investigate the potential for DH/C, including detailed technical and economic feasibility (Phase I) studies.
