In 1982, the authors reported results of research on the effect radiant cooling panels had on stratification in high bay buildings. This study showed that energy use could be reduced by as much as 40% using radiant cooling panels.

In this latest study, a computerized calculation method suitable for use on personal computer is presented. The calculation method used finite differences to predict the amount of heat transferred through the roof and into the floor slab.
