Consideration of the use of any economizer equipment with heat reclaim equipment for building HVAC systems requires a complex engineering evaluation if proper selection and operation are to result. This paper demonstrates how the results are drastically affected by such building/ system variables as geographical location, internal load characteristics, ventilation requirements, control setpoint, equipment efficiency and unit energy costs.
