This paper deals with the Kelbaugh House, a passive solar home built in 1974 in Princeton,N.J., which is heated by a Trombe wall (Figure 1) and greenhouse. The following topics arediscussed: early problems and their resolution; performance during the winter of 1976-77;monitoring by LASL; temperature profiles; and a simple design method for calculating heatgain and heat loss through a Trombe wall.
