How an air terminal unit specification is interpreted by a manufacturer’s representative will often determine which size units are selected, at what price and ultimately who is awarded the project. Specifications for air terminal units can be written that leave the final selection and pricing vague or subject to interpretation by the manufacturer’s representative. This article provides suggestions to ensure that what the engineer has specified is actually what is quoted to the contractor and installed on a project.
