The primary objective of 1252-RP was to develop and evaluate a simple control strategy for thermal energy storage (TES) systems that works well with real-time pricing (RTP) utility rate structures. The project was divided into two phases. The first phase involved development of background information, data, and models. The results of the first phase were utilized in the development and evaluation of a simplified control strategy that was carried out in the second phase.
