The following is a report on the results of measurement of pressure drop in two phase NH3 flow in vertical pipes (“risers”) of size 2″ and 4″. The measurements have been performed at the saturated temperature of -40, -20, 0 and 20 °F and circulation number of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10.
The objective of the work is to identify the superficial gas flow at which the minimum pressure drop is observed and to document conditions under which liquid floodback occurred in the riser.
