The goal of this research project was to provide ASHRAE with increased expertise it currently maintains in providing design guidance for commercial kitchen ventilation systems, to obtain a better understanding on the effectiveness of UVC systems on commercial cooking effluent and to establish an accurate, effective and economical method of test for the evaluation of the UVC effectiveness, aiming at firm research-sidegrounds toward next standard building codes and regulations within the food service industry.
