The heat gain of appliances and equipment represents one component of a space design cooling load calculation. Additional components include external load sources, other internal load sources, and ventilation / infiltration air. Properly estimating each component i s important in calculating an accurate cooling load. If the cooling load is underestimated, the cooling equipment may be undersized and unable to meet the load. On the other hand, if the equipment is oversized, it may have a higher initial cost and a lower efficiency.
Chapter I discusses the purpose of the study and presents an overview of previous studies which are relevant to the topic of this report. Chapter II discusses the specification collection and reduction of the data used in this study. Chapter III discusses the development of recommended heat gains. Chapter IV presents results and recommendations.
