At present, little data is available on the solubility of water in blended alternative refrigerants. This data is needed in the manufacturing, handling, and application of these refrigerants.
The objective of this research is to determine the solubility of water in the following HFCs: R-23, R-32, R-125, R-143a, R-152a, in a temperature range of -100 degree F to 160 degree F at 20 degree F increments and determine the net effect of the solubility on any combination of a blend of these HFCs. This shall be verified by testing at least 3 blends with equal parts of 3 components.
