Research is needed to identify and quantify the dimensionless parameters that most strongly affect the performance of stratified thermal storage tanks.
The objective of this research project is: 1) identify dimensionless parameters that affect the performance of stratified thermal storage, 2) acquire reliable tank performance results, and 3) analyze the measured data for correlating tank performance in terms of independent dimensionless parameters that include flow rate, density difference, and water depth.
