Energy has worldwide use, and its ready aVailability is a torldwide aim. Use of energy in any fom, from any source, and in any manner has envi:ronmental effects which are only recently being appreciated. Different foms of energy and methods ,of use have different effects. These effects and the role which can be played by sola:r: energy in making them acceptable for mankind, ‘are the concern of this paper.
