This product is a zip file that contains files that consist of PowerPoint slides synchronized with the audio-recording Ice and chilled water have been stored to provide cooling during the day using inexpensive electricity at night.  The systems were often subsidized by utilities to increase load, reduce peak demand growth, and increase power output at peak times.  This session will show the evolution of these systems and how thermal energy storage has been modified to meet utility needs.  The new electric grid with solar and wind will dramatically change how we store energy.  Thermal batteries will be part of the solution, especially as we decarbonize buildings and electrify.
