This session presents issues surrounding heat and other resource recovery in industrial process air systems. The practice of not wasting thermal or chemical resources is not new to industrial processes. Many processes operate at conditions that are considered extreme compared to simple AC applications. As such, there is a greater opportunity for energy recovery from industrial processes than in commercial AC applications. However, coupled with the opportunity for greater resource recovery is the reality that in some cases this may not be possible because the recovery airstream may be laden with dangerous or outright toxic vapors and chemicals.
