Application of sustainable technologies at the community scale offers many benefits to society and the environment. However, due to the challenges in design and operation, a holistic approach is required to consider demand and supply energy characterization beyond the built environment. It is also important to consider other non-engineering aspects such ascommunity’s preference and cultural needs. This seminar will show some examples of how to holistically addresses these challenges as well as a review on some of the current tools and methodologies available to perform large-scale analysis for today and tomorrow’s community-scale design.
