This article explores using total cost of ownership in comparing air-cooled and water-cooled chilled water systems across different U.S. climate zones. It discusses the process for making sound investment decisions by going beyond the simple comparison of annual energy use for the different air-conditioning systems and technologies and explores initial and maintenance costs.
