In the course of the authors’ graduate study at Purdue University, it became necessary to perform numerous calculations involving the thermodynamic properties of the commonly used refrigerants R 12, R 22 and R 502. Since these calculations were most easily obtained using a digital computer, it was necessary to program the properties of the refrigerants.

This paper presents thermodynamic property subprograms for refrigerants R 12, R 22 and R 502. These subprograms can be easily incorporated into computer programs where values for the thermodynamic properties are required.
