A new version of Standard 55, Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy, was released in November, and has a number of significant changes. These include a new method for selecting air speed limits, which dramatically raises the maximum operating temperature from still-air comfort zones. The article also covers how to choose the most appropriate compliance path, including the Computer Model Method, which is becoming increasingly important on complex and high performance projects.
